Description. A steel frequently used for larger blades and swords, but used just as regularly in everything from bowies to kitchen knives, 1075 is tough, durable, and hypo-eutectic, which means it is very forgiving during heat treatment across a wide range of quenching fluids employed by the knife communitya very convenient option when one does not have access to some heat treat equipment

Heat Treating 1095 - Here is another way KnifeDogs Jan 08, 2013 · 1095 is a high carbon steel with.95% carbon (the 95 in1095) and is proven, good quality knife steel with good edge retention. 1095 isconsidered slightly fussier about heat treating than say 1080 or 5160. Thisisnt a deal break at all and really can be mostly ignored. Follow the recipebelow and you shouldnt have any problem.
1095-Not the same as 1084. The extra carbon makes heat treating more complex. Heat to 1500, soak 10 minutes. Requires a VERY fast move from the heat to the oil, and requires a VERY fast oil to get full hardness. You can make a good knife out of it, but it is hard to make a great knife without good temp control and fast commercial
Plating/finishing AISI 1095 spring steelThe spring clamp-in, clamp out regularly. The flat spring is short (+o-) 2" length X.5" width X.050 thickness) and the choice of material so far is 1095 spring steel (support 238,000 yield strength) but forming annealed and only after the heat treatment to obtain 49 RC, have to support regular abrasion and corrosion (outdoor device)
Spring-Tempered Steel Strips McMaster-Carr1095 Spring Steel Sheets These sheets have a softened temper, which is also known as annealed, so they can be easily formed into shape and then heat treated for spring properties. 1075 Spring Steel Strips Also known as scaleless steel.
